But the book includes a recipe for homemade Grenadine, which is basically a syrup that you make with pomegranate juice. It is really easy--all you need is pomegranate juice and sugar. With the homemade Grenadine I decided to try my hand at the Jack Rose, and boy was it delicious.

Plus, the Grenadine is also fantastic mixed with sparkling wine or sparkling water. It's a gorgeous color and has that great sweet-tart pomegranate flavor. Next time you are playing bartender, make a batch of Grenadine!

Grenadine Syrup (adapted from Speakeasy)
