Recently we took a vacation to Maui, and it was breath taking, beautiful, relaxing, amazing. Can I go back now, please? Before we went many different people suggested going to Mama's Fish House. Trip advisor and my mother-in-law warned me that it is pretty expensive. They were not kidding. Entrees range from $30-50. It might be a little bit more affordable at lunch time (this is when we went).
What makes Mama's special is that they prepare a menu daily according to what the fishermen catch. This is the freshest fish that I've ever tasted. The menu even specifies who caught the fish.
You may want to save room for dessert. The portions of fish are pretty large, so you might be able to get away with sharing an entree. Mama's has been featured on Food Network on Best Thing I ever Ate for their creme brulee. Also, Giada visited their restaurant and raved over their menu as well. Browse through their website for more accolades.
Try a Mai Tai at Mama's because they make their own Mai Tai mix. This is not the sugary syrups you'll find at other restaurants.
Not only is this one of the freshest meals you'll ever eat, the VIEW. The view is amazing. We ate at Mama's as our last meal in Maui, and I almost cried as we left.
Verdict: This is a definite must when you visit Maui.
