This year, I hope to try more foods I've never had before -- fruits, veggies, recipe ingredients, etc. I'm not the most seasoned eater there is -- or even on this site -- but I do like to try new things and the older I get, the more adventurous I become in the kitchen and when ordering dishes. So, anyway, I'll try to spotlight new foods I've tried here from time to time.
Just last week I had a white grapefruit for the first time. I know, that doesn't seem too rare or exotic, but, still, it's more more uncommon than the pink grapefruit.

It looks like a big lemon, and while it's much less tart than the pink grapefruit, I loved it. Refreshing, delicious, the perfect dessert when you're trying to lose weight like I am.
Oh, and if you like grapefruit, pick up this knife. Makes all the difference.
Also, some grapefruit recipes I think I should try with the white grapefruit: mixed lettuces with grapefruit, goat cheese, and black pepper or grapefruit mimosas!

oh I wish I liked grapefruit! The adult beverage with grapefruit seems right up my alley.
