Often the talk on Twitter turns to food: sometimes it's about some new find we love, frequently it's about what feelings we are eating today, mostly it's love for something from Trader Joe's and ocassionally it's a friendly but spirited discussion about what foods are good/bad and in what combinations they might or might not be acceptable.
I find it interesting how peoples' tastes cause so many variations on a theme. Take for example egg salad. I figured that was a pretty standard recipe but it turns out that people make it many different ways. Even just modeling it after a deviled egg doesn't mean that it's a standard either as so many folks make their deviled eggs slightly different as well.
My egg salad and my deviled eggs are similar but not exactly the same.
Egg salad is:
-mayo
-sweet pickle relish + pickle juice
-onion
-cracked black pepper
-mustard
-powdered fenugreek
-topped with smoked paprika
What's in your egg salad?

Mayo, a little bit of prepared mustard (just enough to make it yellow), dill relish, Johnny's Seasoning Salt, and a squirt of Sriracha!

Mayo, salt, pepper, and a little bit of finely chopped celery and onion (this, according to many people, is apparently where I go terribly horribly wrong.). And that's it. I might add watercress to the sandwich, if I have some and am feeling super fancy.
