So last Saturday I made a pretty important purchase at the Target.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen. A Sunbeam Snow Cone Maker. Go get one of these right now. It makes the PERFECT shaved ice. Target also sells fun paper cones and all kinds of syrups for your snow cones, though I just put mine in a bowl. I've also just been using Crystal Light to flavor my snow cones, the way I mentioned in this previous post.
My love for snow cones resurged anew for the summer after a few visits to the Enticed Snow Cone truck with my gym buddy, Jeremy. Food trucks are the latest thing here in Dallas, and they are an especially delicious treat after a hard workout when its 95 degrees out. At 8 pm.
I've also got a new go-to meal this week: chicken nachos! I know, unoriginal, but my nacho love was rekindled by purchasing some Guiltless Gourmet Spicy Black Bean corn chips this week at Whole Foods. I used to scrounge these expensive chips up in college at Big Lots (those were NOT the days) and hadn't had them in years. I top them with chicken I cook in buffalo sauce, sour cream, my favorite Wholly Guacamole, and pico de gallo. I usually make my own, but bought some pre-made at Whole Foods as well. But that's going to have to stop since discovering that I ate $5.00 of pico de gallo in two days.
And lastly, I've always loved me some Nestle Quick. And really all the nasty chocolate-flavored things other people seem to hate (Chocolate Frosted Pop Tarts anyone?) But ya know, adult and all. Which is why I was pleased to stumble upon these Vega Shakes at Whole Foods, I was eager to try them. I've never been a huge fan of protien shakes (texture issues, flavor etc), but I'm always trying to find something tasty. And these were surprisingly good! And they have fiber, and two servings of vegetables in one 100 calorie shake! And they're gluten and dairy free, which is good news for me since I'm trying to cut back on dairy. Get excited about my allergy elimination diet I'm sadly about to start!
