I'm sure you're all familiar with those candied nuts that get popular around Christmas time and smell so delicious, yes? Well, I learned how to make them! Here's the recipe I used:
1/3 cup butter
2 egg whites
Pinch of salt
1 cup sugar
4 cups whole raw almonds
4 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325o. Place butter in a 9X13 glass pan and place in the oven to melt (about 5 minutes.) While your butter is melting, beat egg whites with salt until frothy then gradually add the sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Mix in cinnamon, then fold in almonds. Pour the almond mixture into the pan with the butter and stir the butter in. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring 3 or 4 times during baking. Keep them stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

These are SO yummy! However, pay attention to the fact that this recipe takes four cups of almonds. That's a LOT. I've been giving them away because, again, a LOT. Maybe cut the recipe in half if you're not making them for a huge crowd. Or you're just a huge fan of almonds.

I've been looking high and low, and it seems that most liberal arts schools are populated by heavy drinkers and partiers, which I am not interested in. If I can, I'd like to double major in creative writing and journalism.. Thank you!.
