It's no secret that we Food Lushes LOVE Trader Joe's. I don't live near one, which is positively tragic, but I do visit one whenever I'm at my in-laws' house in the DC area. My husband recently took my son up to my in-laws' house for spring break and shipped me home a box of my favorite Trader Joe's item, Brown Rice Medley. It's a mix of long-grain brown rice, black barley and daikon radish seeds. It's nutty, hearty and soooo delicious, especially if you toss in a handfull of dried cranberries. I love it alongside a pork tenderloin. It's also really good of you cook it as directed, then place fully-cooked, pan-seared pork chops on top of it in a casserole dish, then pop the whole thing in the oven for a few minutes. (You can drizzle a little chicken broth over it if you're worried about it drying out.) If you're looking for a nice switch from regular old brown rice, give this a go. I think you'll like the variety. Also, contrary to what my son will tell you, this rice mix will NOT make daikon radishes grow out of your ears.
