I've had my breadmaker for years and in the beginning it received a lot of use, largely because Krusteaz Bread Mixes were readily available at my local grocery store. Now, however, they are all gone from the shelves and my bread machine sits collecting dust. I really hate to have any appliance (or anything really) sit around and not get use and we eat a lot of bread in this house, specifically oat nut and wheat varieties. I suppose I could use my Amazon Prime account and just order them online, but I'd like to take this opportunity to try my hand at making some from scratch.
Do you have any tried and true bread machine recipes to share? I'd especially love any recipes that aren't just plain white.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bread machine! I wrote a post on my food site last year about a few of my favourite recipes:

Last night I tried another recipe in that book for Banana Bread, and it's heavenly!
1 package yeast
1 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 cups wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 medium ripe bananas, sliced right into the pan
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup warm water
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
The bread is very dense, but the flavour is excellent with just a hint of sweetness.
