This month I'm hosting my book club, and each month the hostess provides treats of some kind. Since our book for this month was The Paris Wife, I thought it'd be fun to do some sort of French-inspired treat. So I decided to go with fruit and cheese (and eclairs, but I'm just ordering those from a bakery.)

Doesn't that look yummy?
However, although I love cheese, I pretty much only eat it on crackers. Here's where you come in lovely readers: what fruit goes with what cheese? Help me out!

I love the combination of manchego cheese with granny smith apples. Actually, I have a hard time thinking of a cheese that doesn't go well with apples! If you can find some quince paste (often called membrillo) or fig jam, those are also great complements to most cheeses.

Grapes! And apples. I love gala apples with cheese on them. Raspberries are delicious too, but probably hard to find this time of year.

Goat cheese with craisins mixed in is DIVINE. Not really "fruit with cheese" more like "fruit IN cheese" but it is yummy. Also my mother just started doing something amazing with brie. Buy a round of it and thinly slice off the rind on the top. Drizzle cheese with honey and sprinkle with thyme. Put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds and serve with crackers or crusty bread and it will be gone SO quick. Way better than super sweet insane jams that some people put on brie.
