Despite my kitchen weaknesses, I happen to have two really wonderful friends who have amazing kitchen skills. The first is my friend Kate, whom I have introduced you to in the past. The second in Maggie, The Freckled Citizen, who is not only a super wonderful person, but also a super wonderful chef. Her blog is a wonderful mix of home decor (do check out her amazing DC Brownstone), personal stories and her delicious collection of recipes.
I had planned on making her latest recipe, Chicken and Leek Stew, tonight, but having been brought down by the latest of my recent 982 colds on the season, a trip to the grocery store for the ingredients was all I had the energy for tonight. TOMORROW WILL BE A BETTER DAY!
But having tasted Maggie's amazing kitchen pursuits in the past, I can assure you that if Maggie cooks it, it WILL be good! I have begged her in the past to be my Mom, such is the comforting nature of her cooking choices. Her Freckled Kitchen archive is chock full of other worthwhile recipes as well.

Brussel Sprouts with Chestnut and Cream (I'm a late adopter of brussels, and my new affection for them is due entirely to Maggie and Kate, their biggest proponents)

Lemon Quinoa with Asparagus and Feta (The Citizen herself has served me this dish in the past, so I can attest to its greatness)

I think my favorite food blog is Annie's Eats. Everything I've made from her blog has been delicious, from fish tacos to cupcakes.
