I'm always really interested in what other people are eating. I'm particularly interested in what people eat for breakfast, as it's pretty much my least favorite meal of the day and also one that I know other people don't frequently eat.
In the past two years or so, I've realized that my day goes MUCH better if I eat some protein at breakfast. It's easier for me to concentrate, I have more energy and I don't get hungry for lunch nearly as fast as I did when I was eating only carbs for breakfast. It's kind of a no-brainer, but it took me forever to realize!
Here is a small survey of what I eat for breakfast on a regular weekday:
- GF bread or English muffin, toasted, with SmartBalance, peanut butter or almond butter and a Greek yogurt
- One GF frozen waffle with Greek yogurt spread on top and either blueberries or sliced banana on top of the yogurt
- Small serving of cereal with almond milk and sliced bananas and a Greek yogurt
- Green smoothie with protein powder added and toast or waffle
- Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and granola mixed in
- Microwaved scrambled eggs with spinach, tomatoes and a little bit of cheese
And I always have a cup of black or chai tea with milk.
I'm not one to eat last night's dinner for breakfast; for me, breakfast has its own flavors and they should be kept seperate from lunch or dinner flavors. If it's a weekend morning or if I have a little bit more time, I'll eat scrambled eggs on quinoa with salsa on top, or maybe a frittata or pancakes. (Here's a nice archive of what other Food Lush writers eat for breakfast.)
And here's an awesome graphic I got from The Kitchn via EatingRules; some great suggestions on there, right?
What do you eat for breakfast? Are you a breakfast protein fiend like me or are you the type to just grab a granola bar?

Every morning I eat raisin bran with lowfat milk and fresh fruit, plus 1/2 cup of OJ. For a weekend treat, sometimes I'll indulge in baked oatmeal or pancakes. I'm a creature of dietary habit.

I LOVE this for breakfast (confession: it's my moms) http://www.etsy.com/shop/burningdaylightfoods
But in the summer there's really nothing better than some fresh fruit and cheerios. :)

I'm big on breakfast, but it has to be fast around here because my kids want to eat like 20 seconds after they wake up. Usually that means oatmeal or scrambled eggs (both of which they love.) If I have more time I'll do poached eggs or french toast and every Sunday my husband makes pancakes.
I skip the "quickie breakfast" stuff (including cold cereal) because my kids eat TONS of breakfast, and if I feed them that stuff they want to eat again like 30 minutes later. And I'm just not interested in doing breakfast twice.

I generally do not eat breakfast foods in the morning, except for maybe an english muffin, or if it was a late night, then a greasy diner breakfast hits the spot. I usually do leftovers from lunch/or dinner. and if they're restaurant left overs then they are burning a hole in my fridge and I have to have it immediatly.

Gf cinnamon raisin bread (I am not gluten intolerant, I just find it sticks with my blood sugar better) toasted, with chunky peanut butter on top. Everyday. Love it.

I usually have yogurt with fruit/honey/granola or cereal with milk and fruit at work on weekdays. Sometimes I'll have a bagel but not often.

My favorite breakfast is Fage yogurt with some pomegranate seeds from Trader Joe's. LOVE. But alas, the pom seeds are only really good in the fall. Something to look forward to, I guess!

Lately, I"m on a quesadilla kick. I make an egg and cheese quesadilla on a whole-wheat tortilla and dip it in fresh salsa. It's delicious.
