I'm not a beer drinker. I'm more of an Ice Pick or Mojito kind of girl, honestly. But I do make an exception for Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy.
I was introduced to the Leinie family of beers at the 2009 BlogHer conference in Chicago. To be clear, it wasn't really at the conference per say, but more like "at the bar around the corner from the hotel where the conference was held." My oldest and dearest friend, Becky, will forever have my gratitude for buying a round and introducing me to my beer soul mate. Yes, I like it THAT much.
Summer Shandy is a seasonal brew and is described as a Weiss beer with lemonade. It's light, refreshing and surprisingly not really "beer-y" tasting. It's available in most states from April until August. I typically get a six-pack or two right before the end of August and save them in my "beer fridge" in the garage for September and October seeing as it's still regularly 100 degrees here in Texas.
Next time you're looking for a light, crisp beer to enjoy while soaking up the sunshine, might I suggest you crack open a Summer Shandy? And raise a toast to me for showing you the way to true happiness.

We used to make these ourselves--any light beer and a good lemonade will do. Definitely a sign of summer.

Oh, Summer Shandy, love of my life!
For a twist, pour a shot of Razzmatazz (or whatever your local cheap-ass version of Chambord is) into a glass, then fill the rest of the way with Shandy. Yum.
When fall comes, make sure you try Leinie's Berry Weiss. Also delish.

I'm going to look for this next time I'm out, I love trying new seasonal beers! Is this more of a "girly" beer (fruity)? Or do you think a guy who likes his beer the color and consistency of used oil (Guinness, bleh) would maybe like it?

When he told me about his illness a few weeks ago I was stunned, and struggled unsuccessfully to hold back the tears. I'm struggling to hold them back now as I write this, but I know he wouldn’t want any of that sadness. In his last email to me he insisted upon talking about something else, even though he evidently didn’t really have the energy to talk at all.

But the truth is that I have too many great memories to mention. Paul and I read together on several occasions, both in the U.S. and in England, but it's not just poetry memories that come flooding back. My son Andy today reminded me of a photo that exists somewhere in an album of Paul seated on our couch with one of our kittens perched on his shoulder. That would have been the very early 90s, I guess. And on one occasion in Aldeburgh I remember Paul running into the North Sea in his underwear. Why? Well, it's the sea, and it was there. The fact that it was a cold bleak day, and the North Sea is never warmer than freezing, was not going to stop him.

Insanity defenses require jurors to view the defendant's actions in light of situational factors - elements in the defendant's life that contributed to exacerbation of existing mental conditions, a lack of understanding or awareness of the world around him/her, confusion or fear related to mental illness invading the person's perception or awareness, and so on. This goes directly against the juror's natural predilection to view the defendant's actions as illustrative of the defendant's character - and the ease with which condemnation for heinous acts can come as a result.

He first wrinkle are two new judges, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Marc Anthony's Jennifer Lopez. The second is the addition into the frays of the competiton of "music industry legend - and mentor - Jimmy Iovine." Other than this, AI is strickly business as usual.

When a guy can handle your flaws, love you on your moody days & kiss you when you don't look great, he's worth loving.
