After we remodeled our kitchen last summer, I found myself staring at an expanse of freshly painted wall practically begging for some new art to complement our retro-inspired stove and farmhouse sink. Naturally, I looked to Etsy for inspiration and discovered a wellspring of print possibilities.
By and large, though, my favorite shop for kitchen-friendly prints is Drywell Art by Alyson. She specializes in what she calls “meat sections butchery diagram art,” which, admittedly, sounds a little gross. But, Alyson’s art is infused with this fabulous, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. I couldn’t help but buy “the tastiest pig part” as soon as I saw it.
(No longer available in her Etsy shop, unfortunately. Also, I’ve yet to hang this print for fear my 2-year-old son will ask me to read it to him!)
After seeing her “San Francisco is for Carnivores” print, I wondered if she would consider doing another city print for Seattle. I e-mailed her, and she said yes! Seattle was on her list for follow-up cities and since I asked, she would do it next! A few weeks later she posted her “Seattle Eats Local” print.
I’d been saving that wall for just this sort of customized print, and it’s perfect.* Also, Alyson is now donating portions of the proceeds from sales of her “Meat My City” (HAA!) prints to various local charities. So, so great.
*Full disclosure: I’ve yet to find a perfect frame for the 13x19 print, so I have not hung it on said wall. But I will! And it will be fabulous.

I clicked through to her shop and I think I have to have the artichoke print.

Wish that tastiest pig part print was still available. Perfect for a friend of mine!
